The Political Point of the Day

Today's selection comes from James Otis:
It is a clear truth that those who every day barter away other men's liberty will soon care little for there own.
Jame Otis was a true patriot.  A colonial lawyer in Massachusetts and King's Advocate General, there was no one doing more on the legal front to lay the foundations for the Revolution.  John Adams would later say, "I have been young and now I am old, and I solemnly say I have never known a man whose love of country was more ardent or sincere, never one who suffered so much, never one whose service for any 10 years of his life were so important and essential to the cause of his country as those of Mr. Otis from 1760 to 1770."  It is a shame not many people remember this man, our country owes him a great deal.
