Iran Testing Missile that has the Range to Hit Israel
President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said on Wednesday Iran had tested a missile that defense analysts say could hit Israel and U.S. bases in the Gulf, a move likely to fuel Western concern about Tehran's nuclear ambitions.Washington voiced concern after Ahmadinejad announced the test on the same day campaigning for the Iran's June 12 presidential election officially started.
U.S. President Barack Obama"has long been concerned" by any development in Iran's missile program, White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said. A U.S. official said the test was a "step in the wrong direction".
One Western expert saw the missile test as Iran's response to the Israeli prime minister's U.S. visit this week.
Coming a day after Iran's supreme leader accused the United States of promoting terrorism, the test was a further disappointment for the Obama administration, which is seeking rapprochement with Iran after three decades of mutual mistrust.
It is clear that Iran wants a weapon system that can be used throughout the Middle East region. I for one do not believe Iran's continued statements that they have no nuclear weapons ambition. If they successfully made such a weapon they would immediately shift the power structure of perhaps the world's most delicate region. Any power shift could destabalize the Middle East so much that Israel will fill it needed to act, and then God knows what would happen. This is all speculation of course, but Obama and his foreign policy team certainly has its work cut out for it. Iran continues their march for high class weaponry.

The Bush decision to destabilize Iraq looks worse with each passing day. Which is not to say that Iraq could continue to balance Iran. But there is no country in the region to put a lid on Iran save Israel. And Israel well might have no alternative. Bebe and other Israel hawks are probably having "wet dreams" this very night.
Obama is sounding a bit to hawkish for my liking. Stabilizing the area should be job number one for Clinton. Lean hard on Israel to stop settlements, begin to disband them and get on with the two state plans. Yeah, very easy to say.
I guess what I'm saying is keep up the diplomacy, if war comes US fingerprints won't be all over it.

I have no love for The Iran regime. That said,Noone should expect anything different, concidering the expanding US empire. The Iranians are 'acting in thier own self-interests'. As far as war with Iran-ain't gonna happen. China gets a large portion of it's oil from Iran. That is the only reason BushThugs&Co. never attacked.

Your point regarding China is a good one, but I doubt if Iran selling oil to China has much influence with Israel.

Well,KidA think it through to it's conclusion. If Israel attacked Iran and disrupted China's oil supply,do you think the Chinese would just sit back and do nothing?Who protects Israel?I'm sure the Chinese have informed Israel and US of the 'if you do this,This is what We will do' scenario.I'm quite sure that conversation has taken place.
